Burgatti (Tio Navaja)

March 26, 2017 by Serafin Prado

Once you bite, you realized this was a great choice.

Juicy meat and well seasoned. At the first bite you start tasting a mix of cheese where the Cheddar leads. These cheeses, the bread which was delicious (the people at the restaurant were extremely pleased with its taste), all together make you feel sad if there is no more burger to eat.

Croqueta de queso frito + aji chombo mayo +kimchi ketchup, My Lord! They are like the team behind the scenes that make sure the show called BUR-GA-TTI runs perfect!

I must acknowledge that this burger leaves you speechless. One of the best I have tried ever. Absolutly!

Side: Fries with crispy bacon crumbles and grated cheese. Mamma Mia!

The Big Max (Gula Panama)

March 26, 2017 by Serafin Prado

A huge burger but basic, jiucy and a little bit spicy. The latter thanks to the secret sauce within.

The bacon, Mamma Mia the bacon!! this is the reason why it is the brunch's favorite. Great size and with a beer glazed.

Pickels make the balance with sweet bacon. I loved it.

The bread is homemade. Delicious.

Side: Fries. crunchy. This place has one of the best fries I have ever tried.

Overall, I really dig this burger. You dont have to put a lot of toppings to create a fancy burger. This one has a great flavor with basic ingredients.

The Green Monster (The Green Club)

March 19, 2017 by Serafin Prado

Lets continue (wandering)... now it's the time for "The Green Monster" from The Green Club.

I have to start saying this is for serious appetites. The mix of lobster chunks marinated in cream cheese aioli and cayenne pepper over a "1/2 pund" of Angus meats is delicious.

We have to add that there is a glazed of a reduction of balsamic vinegar on the Angus. To be honest, this variety of ingredients make the meat... again 1/2 pound... be tasted better. The meat was well cooked even though I was not asked for.

The bread is homemade (artesanal). It didn't caught my attention nonetheless.

Side: Sweet potatos. Very tasty.

Recomended!

Budget: $16

La Tentación Panameña (Waldorf Astoria)

March 19, 2017 by Serafin Prado

There are burgers and there are burgers with history.

La Tentación Panameña at the Waldorf Astoria (@wapanama) its a trip within the tipical country's gastronomy and it is mixed with the desire that the diners not only taste a dish but also a mix of flavors from cultural roadtrip.

How many of us have not used the "achiote" to pour some flavor and color in our dish. "Culantro" only a pinch not a festish. Well what if we let our imagination travel and we used both of them to make bread.

The panamenians always need "platano maduro" to eat but if it in "tentación" much better. Then let's create a "platano en tentación mermelade".

Burger without cheese is not a burger, what if the cheese is smoked with the wood of a new project that the chef is working with and the project's name comes from the knowledge of natives Gunas from Panama.

Within the toppings for a well cooked Angus meat there is another ingredient: the avocado, which role is to complete the mix of flavor in a tipical dish from this tropical country.

Thanks to the chef German (@chefgghelfi) for this shared experience to create this burger.

Side: "Yucas" cooked at the perfect temperature and in the well valued oven to make them crispy outside, creamy inside. Seasoned with paprika, salt and some othe secret ingredient.

Recomended!

Gordiwena (Esa Flaca Rica)

March 12, 2017 by Serafin Prado

OMG!! The battle of the burgers this year will be madness!!

The Gordiwena has the best name I have heard in a burger and it's well named.

It contains: Rugula, Queso Asadero de Queso Chela, Hummus de Guandu, Pork Belly and Mayo de Ajo Negro.

As soon as you bite this, there is flavor, there is that hummus and mayo that combined with pork belly its a Food Musical in your mouth.

Pork Belly: at first I was worried that this was something hard to eat or it wouldn't be smooth enough to avoid destroying the burger. However it was cooked perfect with its chicharrón.

Rúgula: it has become the best replacement for lettuce. Mixed with the mayo and the meat is the perfect topping on your burger.

I have to say it was the best decision to go to Esa Flaca Rica first on the burger week tour. The line to buy was long so keep this in mind when you get there.

This place has one of the best fries I have eaten. I intentionally pressed the burger hard so it spilled mayo de ajo negro then I could used it as a salsa for my fries. Just a tip ;)

Last to say: Love at First Bite
